Counseling InternRoss has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Mars Hill University in Mars Hill, NC (2005). Ross is a masters level counseling intern and is currently completing his Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
Ross has always been interested in this helping profession as his father, Dr. Thomas P. DiLoreto, was a practicing psychotherapist in Florida for nearly 40 years. He has a strong desire to help people by meeting them where they are, listening to their concerns, and working collaboratively with them toward self-improvement and problem resolution. He has experience in counseling sessions with clients that present a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, anger, stress, sadness, loneliness, guilt, fear, decision-making, and adjustment issues.
Ross’ philosophy is that a counseling relationship between a counselor and client is a professional relationship in which the counselor assists the client in exploring and dealing with difficult life issues. He believes in a collaborative approach when working with clients and will work with each client toward reaching their goals. Ross follows a wellness model of mental health where the goal is to achieve positive mental health to the degree it is possible.
As an intern, Ross works under the supervision of a state licensed counselor. It is his desire to come alongside those that are hurting and help them take the walk toward personal growth. He looks forward to working with you.
